While I think a lot of protest was for the wrong reasons, I am really happy to see Valve react to market pressure. I'm sure paid mods will be back at some point but hopefully they'll do a much better job next time.

Well let us hope that people dont have a bad memory and dont just jump back on the wagon.

It is not a PC Master race thing. It was a simple mix of the market sorting things out for once and very bad feedback. It is also noticeable that it was not just the customers complaining, it also also pretty much the entire press and other developers too.

I am quite sure that this idea is not out of the picture and it should not. I dont see any reason why you should not be able to directly support modders over steam. However I would rather see more or less 75% of the money going to the modder and 25% gets shared between steam and the publisher/dev of the game.
