Had to read some things about the election and also check the reaction of the german and other press. The press and most other people here, do not really put  a lot of focus on the internal british politics and what it may mean it for the UK itself. Obviously the biggest concern is the position of the new government about the european union.

I personally think the result of the election is a very bad sign for the european union. This will also create a echo here, since the position of the UK is not very popular in the european union. I can agree on some of those complainments, because for a fair ammount of thime the UK does benifit from from special agreements that other countries in the european union do not get. In the past the government of the UK made a lot of decisions, that to us look like they do not want to stay in the european union at all. This was slowing down a lot of progression fpr the european union and a lot of people here would technically not miss the UK a lot.

If the UK drops out of the eu, it will be the first and biggest looser, at least for a while. While of course trading will not simply stop, it would in the end get way more expensive for the UK. However this could also lead that the UK getting even closer to the USA. So while it would not be terrible for the european economy, It would be a very devastating sign for the integreity of the european union.

I am personally a fan of the idea to have a european union. But to me the european union right now failed in every aspect. When it comes to the economy, we have no problem to bring other countries to ruin (hello greece, spain etc) to put more money in our pockets (hello germany). When it comes to morality and humanity, we also have no issues of letting a lot of people die on our coasts.
