I'm Loving the 6mm Napoleonics! I'd utterly love to give them a go, it's my favourite era black powder wise (helps I mainline sharpe and hornblower) I take it each base counts as a regt? that must make for some lovely big battles (as it should be)

Any man that can hitch the length and breadth of the Galaxy, rough it, slum it, struggle against terrible odds, win through and still know where his towel is, is clearly a man to be reckoned with.

Possibly SJ, This is ideally the basecoat, my next steps will essentially cover most/some of this.

so it'll get a gloss varnish coat to seal.
then it'll get a coat of chipping medium, this is a neat formula that allows you to pick/remove paint off it, i'll explain shortly.

so after the chipping medium layer, i spray on my main colour, for this i'm actually going with RAF internal grey/green it's a nice light colour and already looks like it's a bit faded. The plan will be to use it heavily thinned with flow improver, on the chipping medium it should crack/craze and look rather distressed, you can get solid layers but i'm going for the crazed look.

once dry, i take a brush and wet certain areas, this activates the chipping medium and allows you to brush off your main coat of paint, revealing the rusty under layer!
once happy with the chipped bits and flakes/crazing, i seal it again with a matt coat of varnish and go to town with weathering, i've got everything from washes to oil paints lined up ready.

It occurs to me that doing the entire necromunda set (2 x single doors, 5 x double doors, 9 barricades and assorted bits) is going to take a while... then i have extra sets of the doors and barricades bought for me over christmas, AND the plastic scenery sets i've been putting together, which is a few sector mechanicus sets.
good thing i've got plenty of time on my hands...
Pete
