At ease soldier!We like to use ranks within the unit to delegate responsibilities and maintain a level of organisation that everyone enjoys. Don’t worry, you won’t have to fill out any report papers at the end of the day or give us 50 laps if you walk out of line. We think that Arma should be
played and not taken to impractical levels (there’s no yes sir, no sir with us!).

Member
Recruit [Rct] - Trial member (2 Months)A candidate that has passed their enlistment process, attended their stage 1 basic training course, completed their stage 2 training and is under a trial.
This is the point where newcomers get to learn a bit about how we operate and play together. Only those that prove their abilities and ‘fit-in’ with the group will be chosen to join 3CB and progress to a full-fledged Marine.
Marine [Mne] - Standard member.Marine is the first rank within the unit.
A marine must cooperate with their Section, working effectively as part of the team.
Veteran Marine [Mne (V)] - Veteran member (12 months) A long serving marine with experience of numerous combat operations within the unit.
NCOThe main progression for Marines and the highest ranks for in-game responsibilities.
Lance Corporal [LCpl]Active members, coupled with solid attendance, positive attitude, maturity, and a willingness to step into a leadership role with a general likability/status within the unit.
- Can vote/provide feedback on recruits
- Can attend NCO meetings
Corporal [Cpl]Active member, coupled with solid attendance, positive attitude, maturity and a willingness to volunteer their leadership in-game, while providing both feedback and input in game and within the community. Includes minor contributions to the running of 3CB (e.g. regularly runs as Zeus and/or frequently contributes to media & PR)

NCOs are also the retirement rank for less active SNCOs who are unable/unwilling to continue to contribute at the SNCO level. Retired ranks are visible through the units ‘Ribbons’.
Senior NCO
The progression for NCOs who contribute significantly to the running of the unit, by for example taking critical administrative duties.
Sergeant [Sgt]Long serving member, coupled with solid attendance, positive attitude, maturity, whose opinions are valued within the unit. Frequently and willingly volunteers their time in the administration of the unit, both in
and out of the game.
- Initial trial period of 2 months, after which they’ll be offered the role or asked to step back into Corporal .
- Can vote/provide feedback on recruits
- Can view and comment on reports.
- Can volunteer names for NCO ranks (Lance Corporal and Corporal )
- Can attend NCO and SNCO meetings

Colour Sergeant [CSgt]Long serving member, coupled with solid attendance, positive attitude, maturity who are approachable role models within the unit. Chosen for a position of responsibility who actively volunteer for a critical group. Their feedback/opinions are valued.

- Can view, comment, and ‘Warn’ reported players.
OfficerThe Officers are responsible for ensuring that 3CB continues to be a healthy, engaging and exciting Arma 3 based community. They have full responsibility for the leadership and smooth running of the unit.
Lieutenant [Lt]Standard officer rank
- Initial trial period of 2 months, after which they’ll be offered the role or asked to step back into Colour Sergeant.
Major [Maj]Founder
Process
Promotions- NCOs and SNCOs are encouraged to recommend candidates for promotion and to provide feedback as to why the promotee fills the required criteria.
- Recommendation by sending a message to an SNCO+
- Promotions are typically reviewed bi-monthly by Officers.
DemotionsVoluntary reduction in rank- Available to NCO+, if they believe themselves unable to fulfill their current duties/responsibilities.
- Application by sending a message to an SNCO+
- Once they wish to reclaim their original rank and notify us, it will be reinstated, provided they now fulfill the rank’s criteria.
Leave of Absence (LOA)- Available to all ranks, if they will be absent for more than 2 weeks.
- Application by sending a message to an SNCO+ or by posting on the LOA thread
- Duration limited to 3 months.
- Upon LOA expiry, they are responsible for notifying us to potentially extend their LOA. If not, they will be moved to the ‘Inactive List’ and notified accordingly (PM and given 30 days to respond before removal from the Unit Roster).
Reserve status- Available to NCO+, who have shown a significant and sustained contribution to 3CB at their current rank (this relates to administrative or moderating tasks and not just being active during ops), and where “real life” requires they take a break from such activity.
- Application by sending a message to an SNCO+
- Reserve status is reviewed by SNCO+
- Will lose advanced forum privileges, but retain rank and standard member privileges
- Will retain TeamSpeak tags, with a new symbol next to their name (‘R’).
- Once they return and notify us, their original rank will be reinstated, provided they now fulfill the rank’s criteria.
- Limited to 6 month duration unless they keep in regular contact with the unit.
