I do hope that sooner or later we get artillery/mortars closer to what we had in ACE in ArmA 2. Back in the days it you were required to have a JTAC or Forward Observer to use it proplery and effectively.

That would be nice, but at the same time and it felt like this earlier with 2 sections, air and mortars we just need to get more of this combines ops going.

This is brilliant Raptor, will definitely use this information in our FAC training.

We've got Trampz working on fixed-wing training (with Towe1ey I believe).
Whiplash is working on vehicle command/crewman training.
Howl is working on convoy training (with NullJeager).
I'm working on part 2 of the basic braining (at last).

Perhaps you could help out with the FAC training if you're interested?

Here is the 9-Line Form written in Libre Office (you should be able to open it with any office software), so you can print it out or edit it on a pc or tablet.

Oh how I love it when work is done twice...

Got this FAC Training prepared for more then half a year now, alongside with arf's flight training - nobody seemed interested in both things back in the days, even in testing.

Edit;

Oh and your 9-Line actually is a 8-Line since it is missing target elevation...

However, maybe this can help you setting up the training. Don't forget about use of smoke grenades and (very importantly) the three types of CAS runs!

Batz I assumed you gave up/stopped working on this since I never heard anything final from you after I'd asked you to make this. I remember you and Arf were working on it, but I don't remember you ever finishing it since I've never been sent a final copy. Plus, you've not been around very much recently (not saying that's your fault) and so that doesn't help very much with training. If you have finished it, I'd be more than happy to see it if you could explain to me what it all means.

It is - as I told you months ago - ready for testing. We need to verify the methods first before starting a training, so we can see if some thing are maybe not appropriate for ArmA and kick them out before teaching "wrong" stuff.

The link to the document is in my previous post, you can contact me if I can help somehow.

Sorry Batz, I don't remember you ever sending me a final copy, only draughts. I'll look at your document now, it would be good if you could be here to actively explain to me/show me everything in a mission.

I only posted this because the version posted here could not be edited on a pc (however printed out).

Here are some good friends that might help you when you are doing some FAC stuff.

1. Ordinary notepad
2. Pen
3. Ruler

4. Triangle Ruler

I could not find my real triangle ruler, so right now I am using this monstrosity until I find my normal one. So you should get your hands on this.

You can just hold it over or on your screen and you can determine the angle from a IP/BP to a target in seconds. However I suggest you put some tape on one side of it, so you avoid creating scratches on your precious expensive monitor.
