Well the most basic "facts" about Interstellar were correct. But dont forget that it is all theory and not proven at all.

In other news, a film everyone should watch is Night will Fall which is a documentary about the holocaust by Alfred Hitchcock. Most of the material was missing and thought but it was found again and in 2014 it was restored and cut into a film. Considering the material it is a extremy disturbing film. I would not recommend younger people under the age of 18 to watch it alone, in fact I would not recommending anyone to watch this film alone.

You mean Interstellar? Yes the ending is entirely theoretical, but the point was that it doesn't appear all the far-fetched in comparison to real results from real experiments.

Anyway, I'll try not to turn this thread into a physics debate :P

Thanks for the vid on Night Will Fall - I've heard about it before but never watched it.

Not a film, but have you seen the recently restored footage of Berlin in 1945 (and how it looked just after WW2)?

Yep and if you go to berlin these days, you can still see some of the utopian city architecture. You can find some streets which are absurdly large.

The town I live in was also hit pretty hard by air strikes, but this is no suprise since we had a lot of industry here that was important for the war. A sign at a famous hotel in town once looked like this.

Pretty much says: Welcome to the weaponry of the reich.

The hotel still exists and when you leave the main train station, it is pretty much the first thing you see. However we changed the sign to something more friendly.

From weaponry of the reich to shopping city. :)

It is a film, not a theoretical documentation. You always need things to move on or finish the plot.

I had no problem with the quantum physics/4 or 5 dimension tesseract/black hole/event horizon stuff (I studied Quantum Mechanics as part of Physics A level) , it was just a really stupid way of portraying it...  Having him go behind the bookcase and be able to interact with the dust, Murph's watch etc was ridiculous...

This pretty much sums up my thoughts on the film

"Sounds like Han Zimmer fell asleep on the organ"

I love honest trailers, however was the bit at the end intentional? "Christopher Nolan's - Contact"

Add the new Mad Max to the list. That movie is f**k amazing and in very positive way very loony.

Some dude stripped to a speaker system on a truck, playing a guitar with a flamethrower is not the most crazy thing in the movie.

Watching a film called Pain & Gain the other day, based on a true story. Has Mark Walburg, Dwayne Johnson (The Rock), and that guy out of Beverly Hills Cop.

Really good film. It's strange as the film convinces you to root for the bad guys.

I seen this film a while back, throughly enjoyed it, check out the story it's based on too...

My own personal opinion is that film adaptions of books, never work. When I read a book, the whole story is open to my imagination and you get details that are never put across in a film.

Jurassic Park: Lost World was the first time this happened to me, the book was amazing and I honestly felt the film has missed a lot of the great parts from the story.

More recently - having read most of Lee Child's "Jack Reacher" books, I was utterly amazed that the main protagonist, who is 6' 5", with a 50-inch chest and weighs in around 210 - 250 pounds ... Was cast as TOM CRUISE.

Watching that film, though as an independent movie - trying not to think about the storyline it was based on and it was actually a not bad film.
