It's not what the trailer shows, what it represents that lies to you. Don't put any faith into vertical slices of games and movies, they will show you the bits that make you salivate and want to get it, see it and then you will feel deflated overall.
Take this trailer with a grain of salt and if it is good in the end, win win, if it's not, blame JJ Abrams for screwing us over once again by killing a good Sci-Fi IP (Not the prequels though, only Ep IV-VI are good in my eyes, the others are grade A Bull, though passable as movies in their own right they are not good in the context of the series).
Err, what? I agree with you, but I don't see how it's relevant to what I said.
My point was that some people "are losing their s**t over this trailer" because of what the trailer
represents (i.e. A new Star Wars film is coming - this is not a lie),
not what it materially shows (i.e.
not what's in the trailer - good or bad). This means that it doesn't matter what is
shown in the trailer (e.g. "bits that make you salivate and want to get it"), all that matters is that it confirms/reminds that a new Star Wars is coming soon (and people are losing their s**t over
that). Of course trailers should be taken with a pinch of salt, especially when they don't show very much - hence MeFirst's comment and my response.

I dont know why some people I know are loosing their s**t over this trailer. It shows pretty much nothing beside CGI.
