Modified (with rockets) C-130


How have I never heard of this?!




Operation Credible Sport was a joint project of the U.S. military in the second half of 1980 to prepare for a second rescue attempt of the hostages held in Iran using a Lockheed C-130 Hercules airlifter modified with the addition of rocket engines.

I was so close to getting that model as well! I spoke to SabreDust but he couldn't give me that version (I have his others on the GIT) as someone else had given him the rockets and config.

One of my friends who was at school with me, he was american and his dad was one of these arctic C130 pilots. The skid package alone costs about $30mil for 1 plane and they are starting to get rid of the rockets as they are really expensive single use rockets. Actually got to walk around and inside one when i was visiting him in the states in 2013.
