Some strange news out of Russia:

Sorry for weird site, don't know if it's trustworthy but it's been picked up by some western outlets too.

Enlgish Russia is legit as far as I'm aware, been on there quite a bit over the years.

It was rediscovered in 2009. Apparently a book was written about it in the '50's. That's how they know it was abandoned due to scientists eating infected polar bear meat. They had to be evacuated by submarine.

That's in Area 51. Indiana Jones told us that. :D

Probably on the Nazi Gold train...

In all seriousness, there is actually some fairly cool Nazi engineering projects knocking about that have been mostly forgotten about. Some of the underground sections of the "Avenue of Splendours" were actually constructed & still exist underneath Berlin today.

More interesting/remaining stuff actually tends to be cold war, there is a hell of a lot of stuff left over from then. Actually quite a few bits in the UK too.

There are a lot of projects spotted around Germany for future projects that never came to fruition. There are massive sections of underground motorways beneath Berlin, foundations for the new capital of Germania - some so big and with so much concrete that the ground couldn't take the weight and sank, and subterranean factories chiseled by hand into a mountain. In one case the plan was for a city underground. That doesn't even touch on the wonder weapon work. For example, the V3 rail gun project in France is huge and the huge reinforced domes of sub pens that took massive RAF and USAF aerial bombardment but are still there. It is both crazy and impressive in equal measure - especially as they were doing this while fighting and losing a World War.

There was actually a number of similar factories in the UK, if anybody is interested in seeing some pictures/hearing more let me know.
