Hi I wrote you a long and reasoned post in reply but my PC Died before I could post it !!

In a nutshell we're a relaxed group of some ex mil (international including British Navy, Army, Marines etc) we have some Wanna-be's, younger chaps who are keen to join, and then we have some wish-they-might-have's.

I count myself in the latter btw.. 

What that means is that we're not as formal as some of the units out there - there's no shouting at new players for instance and we don't make recruits peel potatoes.

For Voice Protocol we use a simplified British military section call-sign system with a hotel and Zeros etc. It's not as complex as the real thing, but suits our play-style and the kinds of ops we run with those less familiar with a more formal 100% accurate Protocol.

Yes there is some training, it's more to introduce players to a common way of approaching problems they experience in game and getting a level of familiarity up within the unit to a reasonable standard - piss easy for you with your background, but I'd be amazed if you didn't come away with something ARMA specific you've learnt.

Best way to find out is jump on the public server (before 12pm is safest as it can get a little crazy after-hours) and come and see for yourself.

Actually it depends on the op. We encourage independent Section based movement to achieve an overall Objective set by who-ever is in command. MICRO management doesn't work in real life and it doesn't work in game (some of our members forget that sometimes, but we're human)

We don't insist on NCO's leading, we don't insist on officers taking hotel roles - that's what makes us different from other mil-sim type units. If you think you could do a better job than the last op, then take that No.1 slot and show your peers... we earn respect through good example, not because we carry pips
