I'm going to assume it's a genuine question - lol. A Walt is someone who tells other people about how they used to be/or are in the military. Normally associated with heroic experience and expertise in weapons handling etc. When in fact the closest they got was 9 months getting touched up by Akela at Cub-scouts.

We've had a couple of notable incidents - one of whom ended up getting publicly outed by another mil sim unit.

For full disclosure I was not in the military.
(I suppose that makes me a "wannabe" - but not a Walt [emoji851])

And google tells me that it's jackass civvies who get a raging boner for the military lifestyle without actually knowing what the f**k is going on. Luckily I'd agree that we've mostly avoided any trace of it :)
