SSD's have a finite limit on how many write processes they can do. To really worry about the life cycle, you would need to be writing multiple gigabytes every day without pause. Some of the tests done to push drives to their extreme breaking point had SSD's writing at 6gb per second continuously for a solid year. Personally, I keep Arma 3 on my SSD, with its mods stored on the HDD.

I hadn't read Parker's post as being aggressive, so no harm no foul

And yes, current SSDs have far less issue with write-wearing, but got to remember that's the typical drive - personally I wouldn't subject my drive to unnecessary writes just on the offchance I had one which'll fail early, but it's certainly not a cardinal sin to do so!
