To me, IF you already say a specific vehicle (BTR, BRDM, BMP, BMD) make sure its the correct one.

Generally, people don't know the difference which is..bad to say the least

Being a little bitch here...

Is PID a official term we use in the 3CB now? I always had (and have) issues when people use certain words or abbreviations that other people can not understand. I noticed the PID thing during the last OP. I spotted a russian during the OP and (nothing to blame here) Joel was like are you sure? PID? PID?! I had no real idea what he meant, so I pretty much continued on. The problem with those things is, that you pretty much speak a different language to people who are not familiar with it. So I would like to see/hear less "unoffcial" terms about those matters.

It's a common expression. I agree there's a lot of lingo to learn when you first get into milsim but abr. are convenient, esp. when you need to be brief ;)
Nobody expects you to remember those 'memory aid'  abr. the rl military loves (PREWAR, CLAP, etc) but things like BOF, OP, RP, LOA, etc are useful and once told what they mean, easy to remember. The same goes for ROEs, PID, IED, MBT, AA, AAA, APC, IFV and other abr. that you'll commonly here shouted around a section.

There are certainly no issues with terms everybody uses. I just wanted to mention that when somebody is using a term he might be familiar with, he should not always expect everybody else to understand it.

I get what you're saying, but PID is a pretty common term. If you don't understand something - always ask (otherwise people will assume you know what it means).

Maybe I am bit overly careful here, I am just not a fan of terms that taken as official while they are not. Can create confusion and a false sense of elitism.

Just my two cents...
