PWS beta - avoid


My recent issues with mods not loading correctly are down to using the PWS beta (v1.50).  Reverted back to the original PWS (v1.15) and everything works fine.

Just in case anyone else falls into a similar trap.  The beta PWS seems to download the mods correctly, but those marked as belonging to the server are not copied as arguments to the Arma launcher.  Thus they fail to run.  Prime candidates are LEA and ACRE. 

My recommendation is to avoid all PWS beta versions (of which there are many).  

Hope this helps anyone having similar issues.

Out of 6 different PwS beta versions I've tested, only 1 loaded the mods correctly for me.  But that was so unstable it would lockup every 5 mins.

I assume there are external config issues that contribute to the problem.  In the logs it shows a networking error, so it cannot be very tolerant of certain OS or configs.

As a general rule I tend to avoid immediately updating to the latest Beta version when it comes to PW6. At times it updates fine and on other occasions it has led to issues (one cost me my entire mod collection).

Just reinstalled PwS with the latest Stable build, seems to run a bit better for me. There was also a weird bug with the Beta build where some mods would show the wrong file size (e.g. @3CB showed as 1.64MB when it should be 1.44GB). Plus the stable build doesn't get updated every bloody second.
